I passed out the Outlook summary this Sunday. Then held a congregational meeting to discuss the content. Three comments out of the 40-45 minute discussion. It seemed in terms of ordination matter the PCUSA wants us all to be congregationali sts or baptists, in terms of property and per capitia, given the failure of the non-geogrpahic option, they want us to be episcopal or Catholic. That cannot stand. The general feeling/emotion the folks felt about Pittsburgh was that the GA operated out of fear and loathing. Fear of the future, loathing of any change to the institution. A very toxic brew the PCUSA continues to serve. The comment was made a few times, why do we support such a structure, and where do we go from here. On the first that is a personal matter fro the worshiper to process, on the latter we are working on that.

It was a very good talk on a warn Sunday in a small town in NJ. We will have further talks on the matter. The Outlook did a great service to the church.

Thank you to the Outlook for a helpful summary. I've always had a profound appreciation for those who can sit in GA hour after hour and discern the work of Jesus in all that bureaucratic wrangling and institutional paralysis.

Excellent summary, thank you. I appreciate and commend The Presbyterian Outlook for their care, faithfulness and timeliness with which the copy was made available for insertion into the Sunday Bulletin. Well done.

Thank you for your good summary of actions of the 220th GA. But I looked in vain for the summary of actions on the ABORTION related overtures that came before committees: 14(Human Rights); 20 (Health Issues); and, 21 (Board of Pensions). Who will be a voice for the voiceless?

There are indeed many impressions and interpretations one could carry away from Pittsburgh, much of that will be colored by one's presuppositions about the process and results generated. Bottom line, is the 'church' in either a better place on 9 July as it was 1 July, or did a process emerge where reconciliation and accommodation of profound theological and structural differences could be facilitated? The answer to both is no.

Thank you for succinctly putting all the pertinent information on one page. I purchased this for the congregation of 71 members, and I hope it will help them in their understanding of the proceedings of the past week and two-year future.

Looking forward to distributing this fine pub to the congregation, Sunday, July 8th. Thank you for the service.
We have a member who is a Mission Presbytery commissioner, too, and she will be giving us a first-hand update Sunday, July 15th.
Thanks again. Shalom! David
