The African American Lectionary National Forum on Culture, Worship, & Preaching

The conference is a continuation of a series of symposiums that were launched in 2008, bringing together scholars and practitioners to create a network for interactive engagement and dialogue. The purposes of the conference are to encourage the exchange of ideas that will critically engage the practices of culture, worship, and preaching across generations, to invite individuals to a place of mutual understanding across traditions and backgrounds, and to expand the vision of what it means to be African American.

Topics and keynote speakers include “Black America, Black Leadership and the Black Church” with Osagyefo Uhuru Sekou from Lemuel Haynes Congregational Church; “The Meeting of Pastor and Prophet in Preaching” with Dale P. Andrews from Vanderbilt University; “Preaching with the Lectionary 101” with Brad Braxton, a member of the Lectionary team and many more.
